VP of Sales & Operations

Los Angeles, CA

We are searching for a VP, Sales Operations that will take an active and leadership role in developing and driving short and long-term sales strategies to maintain and increase our market share within the controls and system integration industry. Responsibilities may include several of the following:

Account Management / Contract Management

• Manages Area Managers to effectively execute existing contracts to achieve maximum profitability consistent with good business judgment and practice.

• Maintains effective relationships with key political and community decision makers in the region.

• Actively participates in public forums to support Veolia Water goals and to enhance community education.

• Ensures superior client relations: responds to customer needs and solicits client feedback

• Solicits customer and sales input to gain an intimate understanding of customer needs, problems and systems in order to provide a complete solution

• Improve levels of satisfaction, identify need for and implement corrective actions and to evaluate and develop new business opportunities


• Monitors region financial performance including compliance to cost center budget, personnel utilization, pricing, customer invoicing and collections

• Identifies opportunities for improvement and guides team when corrections or improvements are needed

• Consolidates and prepares monthly reports in a timely manner

• Prepares annual budgets for region review

• Ensures that region meets or exceeds plan

• Forecasts monthly budget variances

• Ensures timely collection of receivables

Business Development / Proposal Management

• Work with the members of the sales team, identifying opportunities, sales strategies, presentations and follow up

• Develop and maintain solid processes in submitting sales projections, ensuring projects are completed within customers' requirements

• Collaboration with all related departments including Product Development, Marketing, Creative, Order Processing, Direct Imports and Purchasing

• Leads staff in the development of annual strategic plan for the region including the creation of both expense and capital budgets.

• Leads staff in reviews of potential new facilities for operations efficiency and costing.

• Collaborates with Business Development personnel in preparing proposals.

• Assures proposals are on time and on budget

• Ability to interface effectively with clients including preparing and presenting information at public forums including but not limited to clients governing boards.
