Sr. Revenue Analyst

Job Description:

We are looking to add a passionate and self-motivated Revenue Analyst to our team. The Sr. Revenue Analyst will be responsible for a variety of revenue related duties including: analyzing and summarizing contracts, assisting with SSP analysis for the company's software and hardware products, determining revenue for acquisitions, determining revenue deferrals and preparing related reconciliations, and enhancing processes and procedures in our current systems.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Analyze and summarize sales contracts, development agreements, and sales and marketing programs.
  • Coordinate with the CSR team on any non-standard contracts and sales orders. Review for any revenue recognition issues.
  • Work with cross-functional organizations including Order Management and Sales Ops to streamline the order-to-cash process and reduce the time required to close each month.
  • Coordinate with the Sales Finance team to ensure that revenue is being reported accurately.
  • Prepare and review regular reports such as the Deferred Revenue Analysis, Purchase Price Variance Analysis, and other revenue reports that Division and upper management may request.
  • Prepare revenue deferrals and journal entries to support the month end close. Reconcile revenue and deferred revenue accounts. Maintain detailed support for reconciliations.
  • Provide flux analysis for related GL accounts.
  • Support external audits and quarterly reviews.
  • Assist with SSP analysis for the Company's hardware and software products.
  • Responsible for Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance for assigned revenue related controls.
  • Participate in company-wide projects that directly or indirectly affect revenue accounting and analysis.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of SAB 104, ASC 606, and ASC 605
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences in different functions and geographic locations).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel required, with SAP experience highly desirable.
  • Individual must be highly motivated and able to work with tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance is required. CPA or Post-graduate work is a plus.
  • 2 to 5 years of finance and accounting experience, including at least 2 years of revenue-related experience.
