Senior Accountant II

A large medical device company in the Tri-Valley is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for providing accounting support to the Consolidations team in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual Group reporting requirements for 'actuals', 'budget' and 'forecast'. Provides support and leadership for acquisition and integration activities and responsible for associated cost reporting and analysis. Prepares and reviews a variety of complex financial data and reports. Implements, maintains, supports and improves Consolidation and reporting requirements and procedures as required.

Essential Functions & Accountabilities

  • Prepares monthly financial close requirements for Consolidations team, including journal entries, account reconciliations and reporting.
  • Record all non-GAAP reporting adjustments for internal and external reporting purposes.
  • Manages timely and detailed reviews of monthly financials by country, and relevant analysis thereof.
  • Performs timely and detailed reviews of entity Reporting Database (RDB) submissions.
  • Prepares budget and forecast requirements for Consolidations team, using relevant systems.
  • Performs timely and detailed reviews of budget and forecast submissions by country, and relevant analysis thereof.
  • Manages analytics of Balance Sheet & Income Statement.
  • Investigates material or unusual variances/fluctuations on the consolidated balance sheet and provide related explanations to management.
  • Manages the transfer prices across all systems to ensure accurate intercompany reporting and elimination.
  • Provides support and leadership for acquisition and integration activities including documentation of functional currencies, set up of entities within HFM to facilitate timely reporting, and provides accounting and policy related guidance as needed.
  • Prepares integration cost reporting and analysis.
  • Reviews monthly close checklists for accuracy and completeness and investigate issues.
  • Prepares Divisional Quarterly Checklist.
  • Reviews close documentation and monthly binder.
  • Prepares deliverables for external financial statement reporting, audits and reviews, including SEC disclosure requirements.
  • Assists in continued process improvement initiatives to assist and improve current procedures.
  • Works to ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal policies and procedures.
  • Drives timely and accurate financial reporting throughout the organization.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications

  • 5+ years in Accounting and Consolidations
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • MBA a plus; CPA a plus
  • Ability to disaggregate, analyze and reconcile consolidated financial data in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Strong organization skills with high level of attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to handle conflicting priorities and work under strict deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Advanced level proficiency with Excel
  • Ability to communicate and work with all levels within the organization including senior management
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Detail oriented
  • Consolidations and global experience preferred
  • HFM experience a plus
