The Analyst will:

  • Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and forecasts
  • Review, reconcile, and analyze accounting data
  • Provide accurate historical and forecasted financial data to division management
  • Work closely with the Operations and Program Managers, Engineering personnel, and Accounting personnel to obtain financial inputs for use in reporting and forecasting
  • Become the focal point for the preparation of financial-related government, regulatory, and compliance documents
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Company and Divisional policies and procedures to ensure compliance with appropriate regulations and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Monitor allocated costs, collect data, and prepare reports on cost accounting system
  • Work with minimum supervision
Specific Responsibilities

  • Primary focal point for Pricing and Cost Analysis with tracking and reporting; grow into management position assuming all responsibilities
  • Funded revenue cost reporting and rate analysis and rate submittals; support of Company Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly and year-end closing process, assuring integrity of the data
  • Prepare journal entries, analyze and reconcile General Ledger accounts
  • Manage accuracy of job cost ledger
  • Funded program input and coordination with program managers on quarterly forecasts
  • Support weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting activities
Qualifications/Experience

  • 5-10 years finance and accounting experience
  • Strong cost accounting and manufacturing/project costing background
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles (manufacturing, variance analysis as they related to funded programs) cost pools and overhead rate calculations
  • Significant hands-on expertise with general ledger accounting, financial and management reporting, timekeeping and expense reporting, project costing, and budgeting and financial systems
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial statements and projections
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be proficient with ERP Systems such as Expandable, Job Cost Systems and Microsoft Office applications (including Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Infor Financial Management Systems, Crystal Reporting and Jamis e-timecard system
  • Basic understanding of direct and indirect costs, overheads, material burden, allocated costs, and general cost accounting
  • Eventually, ability to manage and mentor others

Compensation

Compensation will be commensurate with experience, salary history and regional benchmarks. It will include base salary and stock options.
