Deal Desk Manager

Pre-IPO software company in the Peninsula is seeking a Deal Desk Manager who will provide direct support to the Sales Team in the analysis, development, review, and approval of non-standard revenue deals. The Deal Desk Manager will sit with Finance organization and primarily interacts with the Sales Organization, Senior Management, Legal and Revenue Accounting Teams. Ideal candidates will have 7+ years of direct experience with revenue contracts within a software/hardware setting. Experience handling complex contractual issues relating to revenue and margins.

Overview:


• Work directly with corporate stakeholders on revenue deal structuring and contract language negotiations. Deal sizes up to multi-million dollars in value consisting of software, subscription,
and hardware elements. Key stakeholders include Legal, Revenue Accounting, Sales, Order Management, Pricing, Product Management, and Customer Services.

• Ensure transactions comply with revenue recognition and business operational policies that meet company's margins and revenue growth goals

• Collaborate with impacted parties to identify acceptable options to facilitate deal closure.

• Assess revenue treatment prior to deals being finalized.

• Track and document non-standard deals.

• Assist in responding to RFPs, RFQs, RFIs.

• Complete ad hoc sales related projects and analysis as required.

• Liaise between Field Sales and Revenue Accounting on accounting close questions

• Prepare and maintain financial reporting, forecasting, and board materials (monthly reporting packages, Dashboards, KPIs, etc.)

• Collaborate with the Finance leadership team to set and monitor total company budget and impacts to the P&LRequirements:

  • BS/BA Degree in Accounting or Finance or 7+ years in a related field at a software company
  • 2 + years in a management role leading a team.
  • Direct experience working with Multi-Million-dollar contracts consisting of software, subscription, and hardware component's
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and a keen eye for detail
Compensations is up to $170K with a bonus and equity package
