Carpentry Technician

Position Summary

The Carpentry Lab Technician works closely with the Lab Managers as well as the engineers to complete test projects supporting Engineering Research and Development.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and set-up test specimens in test frames based on written documentation from the lab manager, lab engineers, or other engineers within the department

Operate and maintain testing software to run test specimens per testing standards

Evaluate and fabricate test specimens based on written documentation from the lab manager, lab engineers, or other engineers within the department.

Prepare and enter data for test samples for secondary testing

Keep up with training on different testing standards

Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in work station and laboratory common areas

High School diploma or GED

Clean driving record

Minimum Experience

2-3 years of experience in building experience including; timber/CFS/steel/concrete/CMU construction, carpentry, machining, tooling, welding, hydraulics and electrical systems.

Skills

Good Communication

Problem Solving

Experience in powered industrial equipment

Basic Math

Must be proficient in computer data input using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office systems
