Nelson Staffing is currently hiring Quality Technicians in the city of Brea, CA.

Quality Technician will be responsible for inspecting customer products to ensure products are manufactured within conformance of customers specifications. Inspection includes, but is not limited to checking dimensions, tolerances, functionality, configuration, aesthetics, surface finish, or plating, and material per customer specifications and/or blueprints. Responsibility include inspection of raw material, first articles, in process, outsourced, purchased, or modified products. As well as documenting all associated paperwork

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform Complex mechanical dimensional and visual inspection of products including first article, in-process and final inspections per blueprints and or other written specifications using designated inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, shore gages, digital (dial) indicators, optical comparators, optical comparator, ring, pin or thread gages.
  • Ensures that all non-conforming product is correctly identified and isolated until dispositions (rework or scrap) can be determined.
  • Creates appropriate records of inspection activities including first article inspection reports, certifications, etc.
  • Calibrate calipers according to on the job training.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Skill Requirements:

  • 2+ years' in Quality Control
  • Experience with ISO 9001 environment a Plus.
  • Experience in using Visual and Mechanical Inspection tools (Microscope, Gages, Micrometer, Caliper, Comparator etc.).
  • Experience with Calibrating Calipers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills to deal with people at all levels with the organization and outside
  • Able to Read and Interpret Schematics, Drawings and Engineering Documentation.
  • Strong systems and software skills (Word Processing, spreadsheets, computer applications)
  • Advance Mathematic Skills
  • Attention to Detail
  • Ability to organize prioritize and successfully multitask
  • Must have strong analytical skills.
  • Must be adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Must be very familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures for piece parts, assembly and system level inspections, verifications and validations.

    Education:

  • College Degree or Comparable Experience
