REPORTS TO:Director, Product Management


JOB OVERVIEW:

The primary focus of this position is to assist in and support the development and delivery of new and enhanced products and services in CIG operating states. This position performs research which includes legal and regulatory compliance issues,risk evaluation and exposure; assists in developing ROI for enhancements and new products; has an in depth understanding of technical underwriting competencies along with product compatibility with existing products and services in order to develop and implement guidelines and processes. This position creates filing rule/form/guideline exhibits; develops/revises rules, coverage forms, policy holder notices and supporting documents; supports the establishment of rates in the way of filing research and competitor relativity comparisons; works with Technology, Claims, Underwriting and Field departments to ensure an accurate delivery of the products and services to the marketplace; assists in the development of marketing materials for product line. Responsible for providing business specifications to technology, participates in testing for implementations which includes system functionality, rules, forms and rate testing. This position serves as the point of contact for the technology, underwriting and client services teams on product functionality in our quoting and administrative systems. Other duties may be performed or assigned to fulfill the requirements of this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identifies and performs research for new or potential products and services through filing research, competitive market intelligence, agency feedback and business needs analysis. Evaluates regulatory and compliance environment as well as issues that may inhibit or enhance delivery of the product or service.
  • Develops filing exhibits. Must be familiar and comfortable with state regulatory filing requirements.
  • Assists in the development/revision of coverage forms, underwriting guidelines and rule manuals.
  • Works with line of business Product Manager or Director of product to ensure that all technical compliance issues including filings and forms meet regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development and/or review of marketing materials for the introduction of new/revised products.
  • Develops business requirements that are delivered to Technology for Product changes and assists in cost benefit analyses.
  • Evaluates, recommends and provides technical guidance and direction regarding system changes or enhancements to fulfill technical and/or regulatory requirements, or, as necessary, changes to enhance business efficiency, customer support and customer "ease of doing business."
  • Conducts training and may develop materials for product or process changes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of:

  • Must be knowledgeable with Personal, Commercial, and Agriculture lines, or demonstrated competencies in Personal or Commercial Lines including coverage and coverage language, rating methodologies, compliance adherence, environment and underwriting procedures
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to communicate and train audiences with diverse backgrounds and varying levels of insurance knowledge
  • Must have a thorough understanding of SERFF state filing regulatory procedures
  • Experience with ISO coverage forms and coverage form development
  • Technical competencies with Word, EXCEL, SQL and SharePoint required
  • Knowledge of the database structures and system platforms (GuideWire) highly desirable




Education and Experience

College Degree in finance, business administration, insurance or other related business discipline preferred; with a minimum of 4 years of progressively challenging insurance experience; or a combination of education and progressively challenging insurance industry experience.
