HR Generalist/Office Manager
Are you looking for a great opportunity to join a national leader in corporate real estate? This Marin County company is seeking a full-time, permanent HR Generalist/Office Manager to join their team. The role is directly responsible for overseeing the day to day HR, Payroll, and Benefits administration activities, in addition to general Office Management, while assisting executive team with longer term projects. This is a full-time, salaried position.

  • Partner in the effective execution of company strategies to meet business goals and provide feedback and support on all employee related issues
  • Administer the benefits program for employees including distribution of benefits information, updated communication, maintaining holiday schedule and creating important reminders
  • Assist on benefit related projects including annual benefit plan analysis and updates to the employee handbook
  • Organize recognition events and social events for the team; coordinate quarterly check-in and annual review meetings
  • Assist in managing payroll with Accounting department, including processing new employees, promotions, and terminations, as well as investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies when they occur
  • Develop and propose updates to policies, programs, and procedures to improve the effectiveness of human resources and safety, as well as keeping the company up to date on best practices in people management, recruiting, and California employment legislation compliance
  • Carry out administrative and reporting work related to human resources projects and maintains related records
  • Assist with recruiting process including interviews and facilitation of hiring qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Manage onboarding process for new employees, including coordination of IT activities related to onboarding
  • Coordinate periodic internal trainings for the team, including necessary external resources, and maintain records to show compliance with participation-related legal requirements
  • General IT support; workstation purchases and planning
  • Special projects as assigned

  • Sounds knowledge of California employment rules and regulations
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues
  • Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities in human resources
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Commitment to excellence and operate with integrity
  • Ability to work on complex projects with minimal guidance
  • Professional designation in Human Resources (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) a strong plus
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects
