Behavior Planning Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Design robust algorithms to promote trust and safety of the ADS in a wide range of operating conditions
  • Construct probabilistic models
  • Develop mission planning software for vehicle transit
  • Integrate, test, improve and specify software and hardware to support the behavior planning system users
  • Develop behavior planning software for environmental dynamics including real-time vehicle and road information
  • Work with ADS team to design, develop and support hardware and software interfaces with relevant subsystems
  • Design and develop behavior algorithms that are resilient to degraded inputs such as sensor failures and perceptual anomalies

Behavior Planning Engineer Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Robotics or Automation or Bachelor's degree in same relevant field
  • Expert in C, C++, Matlab, Python and Java programming
  • ROS middleware, Linuz, Windows experience
  • Knowledge of graph search algorithms
  • Experience with supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms
  • Developing software design for debugging, requirements, documentation
  • Strong technical communication skills
  • Experience with deep learning architectures
  • Familiar with interfacing to mapping databases
  • Experience working with real-time systems
  • Prior experience in working behavior planning for robotic agents
