We are currently seeking an Assistant Controller for our client, a growing Consumer Products company based in the South Sonoma County area. Ideal applicant will have experience in Consumer Products or Manufacturing Industry. Experience managing staff is also highly desired. Experience with Navision would also be helpful. Typical responsibilities include the following:

• Supervise and motivate staff, effectively manage, and oversee all aspects of day-to-day accounting processes, including AR, AP, GL, Inventory, Payroll and Fixed Assets
• Maintain accounting records in accordance with GAAP Standards.
• Maintain and update an effective system of internal controls.
• Manage monthly and annual close process:
  • Establish monthly close calendar and ensure timely close.
  • Perform a thorough and accurate review of work completed to ensure transactions are recorded accurately in the general ledger.
  • Review and approve all account reconciliations. Suggest new ones, as needed.
  • In collaboration with cost analyst, ensure all expenses and revenue are properly coded and classified.
• Oversee monthly and annual physical inventory, suggesting improvements to the process:
  • Reconcile all inventory accounts monthly.
  • Ensure proper treatment of all losses.
  • Assist cost accountant in analyzing variances.
  • Implement best practices in managing and reconciling inventory.
• Cash flow management and forecasting
  • Manage and reconcile all bank accounts.
  • Design and implement system to accurately forecast cash daily and monthly and as part of the annual budget process.
• Manage year end audit process as well as other audits as needed.
